由于Opteron和Athlon 64源自相同的架构，因此在系统软件测试中不会体现出什么优势，不过Opteron支持多路处理器，这才是它的强项。这次测试配置的是Registered DDR333内存，这也限制了它性能发挥。不过nForce Professional的I/O扩展能力强大，它支持了真正的双路PCI-Express x16总线，除此之外还提供了一根PCI-Express x4插槽和两根PCI-Express x1插槽，可以接入高速的I/O设备。WinFast NFPIK8AA可以配置成图形工作站，双PCI-Express x16总线可以使用两块Quadro图形卡，并工作在SLI模式，千兆以太网带有TCP/IP Offload引擎（TOE），这个引擎能够降低CPU占用率，把一部分处理交给网络接口卡实现，提高网络性能。
